Those rings are lovely, they don't snag your yarn and tehy don't chink too loudly and you can take them out (you can remove the little ball) and they come cheap. JUST PERFECT!!!!

I found this adorable pattern on ravelry and made 10 hats. There will be more to come as it's such a quickly made hat:

A simple headband, one side is plain half double crochet, the other shells.
But I like the result, hopefully mom does too
